BattleUpLink was founded in 2013 by a small group of Sydney-based gaming enthusiasts who were frustrated by reviews that felt disconnected from the actual player experience. We believed Australia deserved a dedicated voice in gaming journalism — one that understood local culture, local internet infrastructure, and the unique challenges of gaming Down Under.
Today, our team of twelve full-time writers, editors, and tournament correspondents covers everything from indie titles to AAA blockbusters, with a special focus on the Australian and Asia-Pacific esports scene. Every review is written by someone who has completed the game — not just played a preview build for a few hours.
Our editorial independence is non-negotiable. We do not accept payment for reviews, and our scores reflect the genuine opinion of our writers. We are proud to be one of the few gaming outlets in Australia that maintains a strict separation between editorial and commercial interests.
